Kia, on Tuesday announced the release of upgraded version of its EV6 electric vehicle, which was first introduced in 2021. The revamped crossover SUV features a fresh design and is equipped with a fourth-generation 84 kWh battery and an advanced infotainment system based on Hyundai Motor Group's software defined vehicle (SDV) technology. The EV6 sees a major exterior update, including angular LED daytime running lamps with V-shaped DRLs, a revamped front bumper, and a fresh lower grille. The most significant change comes under the hood, with the adoption of an 84 kWh battery pack, superseding the previous 77.5 kWh iteration.

The company's Star Map lighting design is applied on the front and rear lamps, along with the addition of newly designed wing-shaped bumpers, reports Yonhap news agency. Internally, the face-lifted EV6 features a larger panoramic curved display and ambient lighting with dynamic graphics.

The EV6 undergoes a significant exterior refresh, featuring angular LED daytime running lamps with V-shaped DRLs, a redesigned front bumper, and a new lower grill. Along the sides, newly crafted alloy wheels enhance its aesthetic appeal, while the rear receives subtle yet impactful updates to the taillights and bumper design. Inside, the cabin retains its familiar layout but now boasts a striking curved panoramic screen housing both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Innovations such as a steering wheel equipped with a fingerprint scanner for keyless driving, OTA updates, AI-based navigation, and a suite of connectivity features like wireless charging and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration enhance the driving experience. Level 2 ADAS, remote park assist, and a digital rearview mirror further augment safety and convenience.

The most notable transformation lies in the EV6's powertrain, now equipped with an 84 kWh battery pack, replacing the previous 77.5 kWh variant. This upgraded battery, also utilized in the Hyundai Ioniq 5, extends the RWD model's range to a claimed 494 km, up from 474 km. Dual-motor variants deliver a combined output of 320 hp and 605 Nm torque, providing ample power and efficiency. Charging efficiency is dramatically improved, with the ability to replenish the battery from 0 to 80% in just 18 minutes using a 350 kW DC fast charger, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum convenience for EV owners.
