Ganpati Puja 2023: Visarjan

During this duration when people invite Lord Ganesha at home, people keep the Ganesh idol for one and half, three, five or ten days and then after Ganesh Puja, people bid farewell to Ganpati Bappa. They immerse the Ganesh idol in water on 10th day of the Ganesh festival which is popularly known as Anant Chaturdashi, marking as the last day of the festival.

Before the immersing Ganesh idol, a grand Puja is done. People then carry Ganpati Bappa idol towards the water body and during that they chant of ‘Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya' meaning ‘next year please come soon'. Then Ganpati idol is respectfully immersed in water.
