Why do We Celebrate Nougat Day?

There are many legends behind nougat’s history and we are going to tell you about all of them. The early recipes of nougat was borrowed from Central Asia and later on was found in Middle Eastern book in Baghdad around 10th century. The nougat in those times was called Natif. These recipes indicated that the natif comes from Haran, a city which was located between Urfa and Aleppo, Syria. Later on, it came to know that a traveler and a geographer Ibn Hawqal ate some of natif at the end of 10th century.
