PhonePe Introduces Celebrity Voice Feature, "Main Amitabh Bachchan bol raha hoon" for UPI users

PhonePe which has emerged as the the leading digital payment platform in India, has collaborated with Big B, Amitabh Bachchan to launch a new celebrity voice feature exclusively for its SmartSpeakers. This new celebrity voice feature allows PhonePe SmartSpeakers across the country to verify customer payments using Bachchan's distinctive voice. This celebrity voice feature is currently available in Hindi and English, but the company plans to expand it to other languages.

PhonePe SmartSpeaker was introduced a year ago and has gained immense popularity among merchant partners across 19,000 postal codes, which covers more than 90% of the country. According to PhonePe, their SmartSpeakers have successfully validated 100 crore transactions countrywide.

SmartSpeakers have emerged as a great solution for congested counter spaces as these have compact and versatile designs. They provide payment notifications in simple and multiple Indian languages. SmartSpeakers are liaised with a battery life of up to four days, dedicated data connectivity, a replay button for the last transaction, a battery level LED indicator and audio alerts for low battery levels.

PhonePe said - "The addition of a celebrity voice, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, aims to enhance the payment experience for both merchants and customers, making it more interactive than ever before."

How To Enable Celebrity Voice Feature, "Main Amitabh Bachchan bol raha hoon"

To enable this feature, merchants can follow below given simple steps on the PhonePe for Business app.

• Open the PhonePe for Business app.
• On the home screen, Go to the SmartSpeaker section.
• Under the 'My SmartSpeaker' option, click on 'SmartSpeaker Voice'.
• Click to choose Amitabh Bachchan's voice in your preferred language.
• Tap on 'Confirm' to activate the new voice feature.
• Within a few hours, your device will be rebooted in Bachchan's voice.
