How To Check If A Kitchenware Is Microwave-Safe
-
Take a cup of water in a microwave safe cup, and the dish to be checked for microwave-safety.
-
Fill in three-fourth of cup with water.
-
Put the cup and dish side by side in the microwave. If the space constraints, place the cup inside the dish.
-
Heat at high power for one minute.
-
Take out both the utensils using oven mittens.
-
If the water is still cold, but the dish turns hot, the latter is not microwave-safe; it absorbs all the heat.
-
However, if the dish is cool and the water is warm, the former is safe for microwave.
-
You may, however, feel the dish to be warm in the centre if you had originally placed the cup inside it. Check accordingly.
