  1. The bowler with the most wickets in the tournament during the season wears the Purple Cap while in the field.

  2. The Purple Cap is awarded to the leading wicket-taker of the IPL season on the final day of the tournament. 

  3. In case of a tie, it is given to the bowler who took the wickets in the least amount of balls.
