Alternate Way To Find Wi-Fi password

A. Reset Your Router To Factory Settings

  • If you haven't been unable to crack the password of your Wi-Fi network with any of the above-mentioned methods, restore your router to factory settings.

  • For this click on the “Reset” button on the back of your router using a paperclip or needles. Hold it for at least 30 seconds or till the lights on the router flash briefly.

  • This will change your Wi-Fi's password to the one printed on the bottom or back of the router. However, it'll disconnect every gadget connected to your router.

  • “Network name” or “SSID” is the factory name of your network that appears in the Wi-Fi menu and “Password” or “Key” is the Wi-Fi's stock password.

Tips To Keep Your Wi-Fi Secure

  1. Always keep your router's software up to date.

  2. Activate your network encryption for added security.

  3. Don't forget to turn off the wireless home network before leaving home.

  4. Try to place the router somewhere in the middle of your home to reduce the reach of your wireless network signal outside your premises.

  5. Set strong and unique passwords, including numbers, letters, and special characters, to reduce the risk of hacking.

  6. Change the default IP address of your router and also disable remote access.

  7. Similarly, change the name of your default home network or SSID (Service Set Identifier). This will make it hard for malicious attackers to know what type of router you have.
