Reliance and Facebook Launch JioMart Making Grocery Shopping Digital and Hassle Free
Telecom giant Reliance Industries together with American social media biggie Facebook has started an all-new e-commerce platform called. JioMart
In a deal worth $ 5.7 Billion the two leading commerce companies announced what could change how locals shop and sell their groceries in India.
By launching JioMart, the companies are offering an online-to-offline (O2O) business platform to customers. Buyers can now place an order online and purchase the products offline (at the nearest local retail stores).
JioMart is already eyeing 6,000 Kirana stores coming on board to offer WhatsApp grocery shopping.
All that the buyers would have to do is send their shopping list on a WhatsApp number and then collect their groceries from their nearest Kirana.
The services are currently available at Kalyan, Thane and Navi Mumbai- all suburbs of the city of Mumbai, which is also India's financial capital and a major business hub.
To connect over 20 crore buyers or customers with over three crore local stores, JioMart will soon also be rolling off an application for both Android and iOS users.
JioMart has a WhatsApp number that you can store and place orders on, and the backend ensures you get a local store from the nearest location to pick your stuff from.
They are currently operating on their WhatsApp number but soon plan to go live with their application promising many benefits like – free home delivery, express delivery, and some exciting savings offers.
The facility and technology are also expected to spread to other parts of the country soon.
Most of the current users have given excellent feedbacks for JioMart's service. Some say they enjoy its hassle-free return policy, while some say there is no minimum value attached to the shopping they do while some are excited about the convenience it has to offer and the fact that they can easily escape long queues.
