With having witnessed many unfortunate natural calamities this year the UN has fixed the World Environment Day 2020 around biodiversity. Bush fires in Brazil, Australia and United States to the locust attack on crops in Africa to India, this year's environment day 2020 has been picked as an opportunity to enlighten everyone on environmental preservation.
In 2019 China had hosted the Environment Day and the theme was Beat Air Pollution. This year Colombia will be hosting the day in collaboration with Germany and the theme will be Biodiversity.
Biodiversity is the variety of species and life on Earth, and with about one million plants and animals at the risk of extinction, it is important to focus on the topic and do our bit to help save them.
