Online Classical Music Event: Kala Ke Sangh To Bring Together 21 Maestros
The coronavirus pandemic has brought musical notes to a halt. In this frightening era of social distancing and constantly scanning those around us in horror, music concerts and live performances seem like a distant dream; and the brunt of this is being borne by everyone in the music industry. From renowned musicians to instrument makers, and technicians, everyone is unsure of the future.
In such a scenario, Anuradha Pal, the famous table maestro has taken it upon herself to seek support in helping those out of work and affected in the sector. Her foundation Sur aaur Saaz is organising a two day long digital classical music event, Kala Ke Sangh.
As many as 21 maestros including Anup Jalota, Murad Ali, Sanjeev & Ashwani Shankar, Ajay Prasanna, Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Satish Vyas and Anuradha Pal herself will be performing in the event.
Though the event is free of cost and can be accessed through the social media, audience can donate for the fraternity through links mentioned below.
What is the event about?
It is a digital fundraiser classical music festival. The funds raised through this campaign will be used for helping over 700 classical/tribal/ bhajan/ folk musicians and instrument makers who are out for work for months due to the coronavirus pandemic. The festival aims to raise Rs 37 Lakh which will be utilised in providing monthly subsistence to these artists and eventually create an online platform for them to earn through e-concerts.

Twenty-one top classical musicians will be performing at the event. When is the event?
The two-day long event will be live on August 1, 2020 and August 2, 2020. It'll start at 7:30 p.m. on both the evenings.

The event is being organised by Tabla maestro Anuradha Pal's organisaton Sur aaur Saaz in association with Jalota Welfare Foundation, Ministry of Culture and Avid Learning.
