Daughter of the popular badminton player, Prakash Padukone, She was born 5th January 1986 in Copenhagen Denmark and later was raised in Bangalore. Daughter to a sportsperson, she herself has been a national level Badminton player. Not only that she has also played baseball for the state levels.

Deepika Padukone made her acting debut in a Kannada film Aishwarya released in 2006. Her Bollywood debut film is Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan which was directed by Farah Khan, Her debut movie made her win the Filmfare award for Best Female Debut. Movies like Love Aaj Kul and Cocktail became turning point in her career. There was no looking bck after this.
